A beautiful, serene fountain can often be the perfect crowning touch for any landscaping project, and there is a nearly infinite variety of fountains to choose from. Deciding on the look and style that works best with your landscaping requires a trained and experienced eye.
Luckily, that’s exactly what Lehnhoff Landscaping will provide for you. Whether you’re looking for a simple stone fountain – also known as a “bubbler” – to add the element of trickling water or an elaborate work of sculpture that becomes the centerpiece of your landscape, we can help you find the best solution and install your fountain to your full satisfaction. You will meet with owner Rob Lehnhoff prior beginning any work, so that he may understand your needs fully and can move your project from vision to reality.
Ensuring That a Fountain is Right for You
While a fountain can be a dream come true, there are numerous questions you should have the answers to before proceeding. The decision to make such a significant investment can’t be taken lightly.
How much maintenance will be required?
It is important to consider this when selecting a fountain. All garden fountains will require maintenance, (link to Residential Maintenance) but some require more than others. When you meet with Rob, this is likely the key aspect to discuss.
What level of sound will it produce?
If a fountain is too quiet or too loud this could pose a problem, and this is something, again, that you can discuss with Rob. Do you want something very subtle that can easily be spoken over? Or do you want something fairly noticeable that will mask unwanted sounds from the street or neighbors?
How much does it weigh?
Fountain weight is important because it will impact installation costs. Also, heavier fountains such as cast or carved stone are fairly permanent fixtures. This means that it would be very difficult to relocate the fountain to a different part of the garden or to another property.
How should it be winterized?
The pump and plumbing of a fountain can easily become damaged in freezing temperatures. Discuss the options for what to do with the fountain during the winter. The most recommended option is to drain the fountain, cover it and store it in a garage or shed.
