With a pondless waterfall, the water runs down a wall or rock surface and is absorbed in the bottom by a gravel bed. Hidden beneath the gravel bed, a basin collects the water and a pump transfers the water back to the top of the waterfall, completing the cycle. It could hardly be easier to maintain.
